Job description

This role will primarily assist in preparation of state and local tax filings and in other tax responsibilities. In addition, this role will participate in and support projects and process improvement efforts, research and analysis, and other tasks as assigned. A successful individual in this position has a developing knowledge of accounting and tax principals, is detail oriented and seeks to learn new concepts and skills to gain additional responsibilities. Familiarity with Texas indirect tax law is a plus

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:*
Prepare simple tax returns and supporting tax documents
Gather and verify information for various tax accounting and reporting purposes
Contact vendors and other departments for additional information or documentation
Perform the reconciliation and analysis of various tax work papers and tax schedules
Assist with responses to internal and external tax information requests
Participate in departmental projects
Other general duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Strong analytical skills
Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Able to complete detail-oriented tasks with strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy
Eager to develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s business, methodologies, and tools
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study.

Typical Experience:

No relevant work experience required (4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of education)
Internship or previous related work experience a plus.
Oil and gas accounting or tax experience a plus
CPA or CPA candidate a plus
APA, CIA, CFE, CGMA or other relevant professional credentials and certifications a plus**

Schedule: Primary remote with the ability to come to our Denver office on short notice

Salary* Range:* $49,000-$67,000 (based on experience) plus annual discretionary bonus, medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc.
