We are looking for a strategic System Support Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate for this position is energized by the opportunity to leverage previous experience in a similar role(s) and is passionate about a career that includes providing steady, consistent technical support for end users and customers. You will be a proactive problem-solver to effectively manage and optimize Office 365, Web Domains, On-Prem Active Directory, Windows Desktop, Mac, Windows, and IoT devices. On a typical day, you will:
- Manage Office 365 tenants: provisioning, modifying, and removing users
- Manage endpoint devices (Windows 10 and macOS): anti-virus, patch management, DNS, Virtual Machine, DHCP, basic routing, and networking knowledge
- Develop and maintain documentation on systems and services
- Ability to follow documentation and think critically, create and improve current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Work and communicate effectively with other team members to optimize, grow, and build new and existing systems
- Manage backups, verifying and documenting restore processes are working as expected
- Troubleshoot events, alarms, errors, and reported issues regarding operations or infrastructure promptly and professionally
- Work independently to record problems and solutions in the provided tools and applications
- Maintain and optimize monitoring and alerting tools
- Observe logs and statistics, respond to metrics, being proactive rather than reactive
To qualify for this job, you must have:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or another related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to successfully implement secure systems, practices, and procedures
- Experience working positively and effectively with co-workers
- Ability to work unsupervised, set own priorities, and adjust as needed
- Ability to track work through project tools such as Jira
- Ability to analyze existing technologies and recommend improvements
- Ability to evaluate emerging vendors and technologies and provide insight on how they could help the business
- A passion for learning and utilizing new technologies
- Able to use one or more of the following: Powershell, Bash, Python, and Ansible
- Knowledge of:
- Office networking and cabling
- PAAS and SAAS, such as Microsoft Azure instances and networks, Office 365, Cisco Umbrella, Crowdstrike, Mailgun, Cloudflare, and others
- CentOS, Ubuntu, and FreeBSD
- MSSQL, MySQL
- Windows Server 2019
We’d also love it if you have:
- Previous experience in a System Support role
- End user device and personnel support experience
- Ability to read and remediate vulnerability assessments
- Knowledge of NIST SP-800 and SOC 2 and 3 guidelines
