Location: CAPE FEAR VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER
Position Summary:
Responsible for delivering requested supplies and/or equipment from Distribution to the various user departments within the facility. All tasks are completed under direct supervision of Distribution Supervisor, or designated Charge Technician (if applicable)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Previous hospital experience helpful, but not mandatory. 3 months experience consistently performing all tasks as listed for Tech 1 must be met, prior to competency sign off, and consideration for training and advancement opportunities to Tech 2. Must have valid NC Drivers License of which can be verified by CFV Risk Management, to include obtaining inclusion in the CFV vehicle insurance program. Reads, writes and speaks fluent English. Ability to interact with other employees in CS as well as other departments in the facility. Excellent customer service skills, to include effective oral communication, and critical thinking skills. Ability to be flexible to daily changes in operational and patient care issues. Ability to multi-task if necessary. Discretion in the proper handling of confidential information is mandatory. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate these when necessary.
Required Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
Other Information:
Must be able to see and hear. Must be capable of withstanding the fatigue associated with continuous walking and standing. Must be capable of delivering supplies and lifting objects that may weigh as much as 50 pounds and pushing carts with rolling weight as much as 100 pounds.
