Kate Somerville Skincare is looking for an energetic, highly motivated professional to join the business as Supply Planner.

The Kate Somerville brand is in the midst of a period of high growth and transformation. This role is key to delivering on our goals and objectives and represents an opportunity to have a major impact on the Supply Chain capabilities and performance of Kate Somerville.

Reporting into the Manager of Supply Chain Planning and Procurement, this role will play a pivotal part in building best-in-class operational capability and driving transformation in the areas of inventory management, supply planning, and supply chain service. The role is accountable for balancing inventory efficiency and supply availability and will be the lead for driving inventory reduction across the global supply chain.

The role will work closely with the leads in the rest of the business (Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Finance), playing a critical role in cross company projects such as new product or commercial innovation. As Kate Somerville is in a period of dynamic growth and transformation, the responsibilities below are expected to change and evolve as business needs change, providing opportunity for professional growth and development. This is a hybrid position and requires being in our Culver City office 3 days/week (currently Tue-Thu).


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Supply Planning
    • Create, manage and own finished good supply plan. Build supply plan integrating latest demand signal from Demand Planning, on hand inventory, supplier leadtimes, and relevant inventory and safety stock targets.
    • Recommend purchase plan for finished good with contract manufacturers.
    • Translate finished good supply plan into relevant materials purchase plan.
    • Generate and complete work orders, transfer orders in NetSuite.
    • Lead analysis, discussion, and reporting of supply chain customer service results. Drive improvement in supply chain customer service through careful management of supply plan and inventory.
  • Inventory Management
    • Own overall inventory level and health and play key role in driving a reduction in total inventory/improvement in inventory efficiency
    • Build and manage reporting to provide visibility to on hand, excess, obsolete, and vulnerable inventory.
    • Lead cross-functional forums to drive action on excess inventory/inventory with zero demand.
    • Collaborate with accounting and finance to ensure the proper provision is held based on inventory health and make up.
    • Partner with procurement and contract manufacturing leads to ensure open orders support inventory goals.
  • Core KPIs
    • Inventory level and health – value, days on hand, shelf life
    • Supply Chain Customer Service
  • Additional responsibility may include
    • Purchase Order Cycle - Manage product and material purchase order cycle from purchase to delivery.
    • Supplier Management - Manage contract manufacturers and component suppliers to deliver purchase orders on time, in full, on quality
    • Item Master Data – complete set up of new items and maintenance of existing item master data within ERP.
    • New Product Innovation – ensure new products meet supply chain customer service goals and customer readiness dates.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant and progressive supply chain or procurement experience
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and planning logic in cosmetics, personal care, CPG, and FDA regulated industries.
  • Experience with active negotiation and strong decision-making skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and processes - experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle Supply Chain Planning Cloud a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Excel building complex models and analyzing large data sets.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, willing to learn, ask questions, seek solutions, active problem solve, and push for change
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills - written and verbal, and ability to build cross-functional partnerships and work with cross-functional teams.

The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
