Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Summer Camps Coordinator is the primary staff working with Broadway Bound Instructors, Counselors in Training (CITs) and around 40-80 campers on any given day. The Summer Camps Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the camp: including development of quality programs in all camp areas, various administrative tasks and may also be closely involved in neutralizing child behavior situations.
The Summer Camp Coordinator will have prep time of 5-8 hours per week starting immediately and that will increase in the month of May and then will work 30-40 hours per week from June 20th – September 1st. Regular daily hours will be 8:30am – 5:30pm with breaks.
Responsibilities
· Facilitates with the pre-planning and prep work regarding camp including but not limited to structure of day, recruitment/enrollment of students, applications, etc.
· Overseeing the daily activities, general camp operations, and programs to ensure a quality camp.
· Coordinate after care as well as overseeing lunch breaks.
· Supervise Counselors in Training (CIT) program.
· Prepare necessary materials schedules, rosters, assignments, etc.) in advance to be ready for each week of camp.
· Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the camp.
· Be a leader in parent communication and address parent concerns in a timely manner.
o Seek the help of the Operations Manager when necessary.
· Assist with the various administrative tasks necessary for camp to run efficiently.
· Assist the staff with adapting programs as needed to meet the needs of the campers.
· Assist in the supervision of the campers, as needed or when support is sought out.
· Perform other related duties.
Qualifications – Preferred
· Minimum age of 20
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field.
· Demonstrated knowledge of practices, procedures, activities, and programs as they relate to youth/child camping.
· Strong interpersonal communication skills.
· Theatre education experience, especially working with kids ages 5-13
· Passion to share musical theatre with the next generation
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.87 - $25.00 per hour
