What the position is
The Stores Manager reports to the Sr. Manager of Stores and Purchasing. The Stores Manager will oversee our Stores/Warehouse team to meet the goals of the Company. You will also manage daily operations at Stores, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics KPIs.
Essential functions:
- Accountable for the Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities described in the Company's SMS Manual and Title 14 CFR Part 5.23.
- Responsible for overall Stock and Tool Areas at each Company location where assets are kept.
- Accountable for maintaining the Stores well organized, with proper coverage, and personnel trained.
- Ensure the Stores/Warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with internal Customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training Stores Supervisors and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals
- Develop strategic Stores/Warehouse operations systems by determining Parts handling, storage requirements, inventory management, receiving/dispatch processes, and shipping/transfers.
- Review and regularly update workflow, resources and space requirements, layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity and meeting internal goals.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment at the Stores by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Visit the Stores/Warehouse on a regular basis to meet with the Team to review, analyze and develop plans for productivity and loss prevention, as well as to observe the operation closely and detect improvement opportunities.
- Ensures a productive and safe working environment for all Stores/Warehouse personnel.
- Maintains proper, secure, and efficient inventory storage facilities.
- Coordinate with the Training Department to develop training programs regarding HazMat, FAA and OSHA Regulations, and Company Policies and Procedures and ensure training goals are accomplished.
- Participates with the Stores Supervisor in the interview for new hires.
General requirements & qualifications:
- Previous Stores, Warehouse, Inventory management, and control experience, preferably in an airline operation.
- Demonstrates managerial skills and abilities.
- Knowledge in Dangerous Goods/HazMat storage, shipping, and handling processes.
- Excellent communication and employee motivation skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Must be fluent in English (written, spoken).
- Excellent MS Office suite skills and experience with airline operations software.
