STEM Lab Manager Elementary
Job description
ROLE AND PURPOSE:
- Assist the campus in scheduling and operation of the STEM lab rooms to maximize use of high-quality collaborative lessons.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Some college preferred
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Ability to work well with teachers and Curriculum and Instruction specialists
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working/volunteering in a school setting
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Manage use of STEM laboratory rooms
- Maintain a log of laboratory activities by teacher, grade, and lesson for each laboratory room
- Ensure that the layout of the laboratory space is appropriate for the lesson
- Effectively communicate with staff members the availability for the laboratory rooms
Maintain Laboratory equipment and storeroom
- Set up equipment for each lesson as necessary
- Assist teacher with lesson where appropriate
- Break down and clean up laboratory rooms between lessons
- Ensure that technology equipment is charged and in proper working order
- Maintain an organized store room in compliance with any safety regulations
- Check out and monitor equipment for use in the classroom
Participate in staff development, training programs, faculty meetings, and special events
