QORVO is looking for a Semiconductor Packaging Engineer with demonstrated knowledge in laminate process, layout, design and manufacturing for high speed and high frequency product applications in our High Performance Analog (HPA) Business unit. This position will be located in Greensboro, NC or Richardson, TX.
The technology needed in the quickly changing RF market requires that packaging innovation provides business a strategic advantage. The ideal candidate will utilize their broad packaging experience to develop and drive new process technologies and laminate design rules for next generation product / technology requirements from concept to high volume manufacturing.
Strong communication, presentation skills, ability to excel in a dynamic collaborative team environment including working directly with the business unit design teams is necessary.
Responsibilities:

• Drive laminate technologies to support the high speed and high frequency applications within QORVO’s infrastructure and defense products.
• Work with Packaging Engineers and Laminate suppliers to drive the development and ramp of new QORVO PCB and HDI laminate technologies.
• Provide best in class industry “know-how” to enable continued global leadership of QORVO packaging solutions.
• Provide engineering knowledge to QORVO through demonstrated experience in current RF packaging technologies such as MCM, SiP, FCCSP, QFN, DSMBGA and other advanced packaging technologies in the RF space.
• Utilize program management methodology to plan, execute and monitor complex process and/or product development projects.
• Coordinating development and optimization of new packages, materials, and process improvements, as well as working directly with the various business units to develop and evolve the packaging and process technology roadmap.
• Develop, qualify, and standardize laminate material sets in line with centralized Qorvo business processes and documentation standards.
• Travel to suppliers to provide technical support for supplier qualification, technology development and problem resolution

Qualifications:

• Industry knowledge and experience of HDI laminate and PCB semiconductor packaging technologies.
• Recognized understanding of IPC PCB standards
• Strong background in design, manufacturing and qualification standards of laminate PCB’s for RF, High Power and High Frequency applications.
• Skilled in using PCB CAD software such as Altium, ACAD, GraphiCode, etc.
• Strong background in process / packaging technologies. Preferably with direct experience in either RF Modules or high power/high frequency packages.
• Familiarity across a wide range of assembly/packaging process technologies and materials such as SMT, Die Attach, Wire Bond / Flip Chip, Molding, Multi-layer laminates, etc.
• Knowledgeable and up to date network within domestic and international subcontractors to support PCB/laminate technologies
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturability and requirements needed to ramp technologies in a high volume-manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of PCB materials from manufacturers such as Rogers, Isola, etc. for RF applications
• Strong communication skills
