JOB DESCRIPTION

  • This is for an ARCHITECT position. Minimum of five (5) years (seven 7 preferred) years in architectural planning, design and production of construction documents.
  • Performs administrative and professional architectural work to assure that all projects are comprehensively documented for construction. The work includes all aspects of departmental functions related to assigned projects including design, field documentation, production of construction documents and administrative tasks associated with completion of assigned projects. Assists the PA in the development of design solutions based on program requirements and in the development of those designs into construction documents. Ensures that appropriate materials are selected for execution of designs and monitors cost and schedules related to the production of construction of CDs. Construction Document production in a timely manner is the core responsibility of this role.
  • Plans and executes the production of construction documents and specifications or Campus projects < $5M for peer review and formal submissions. Prepares CDs using AutoCAD based upon direction from the Project Architect. Construction Document production in a timely manner is the core responsibility of this role.
  • Documents existing field conditions with the design team and prepares base sheets for use by the project design team. Evaluates existing conditions with the assistance of design team members and make recommendations of required changes necessary to execute project design intent.
  • Develops construction details as required to fully document construction requirements and coordinates wi th other members of the design team to assure all aspects of the design are documented for construction.
  • Produces detailed specifications and advises on appropriate material selections for projects. Reviews shop drawings and product submittals for conformance to construction documents and and responds to Requests for Information during the construction administration process.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five (5) years (seven 7 preferred) years in architectural planning, design and production of construction documents.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods and materials, and methods of field surveying and documentation of existing conditions.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes.
  • Ability to review, analyze and make recommendations regarding designs, plans and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41.30 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
