EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Four years experience in communications, writing and editing technical/scientific material in a medical, academic or research setting. With preferred degree, two years of required experience. Key Functions
- Writes, edits and coordinates production of highly technical medical material. Retrieves data from databases and other internal and external data and information sources for use in reports.
- Coordinates production, graphics and phots. Prepares figures from existing data. Makes charts, tables, and graphs from numeric data. Designs diagrams to conceptualize ideas and assembles panels into figures. Assists with graphic file conversion or reformatting to meet submission requirements, including accurate and scientifically appropriate adjustments in size and resolution.
- Assists with posting, editing and proofreading. Creates and maintains reference libraries; integrates with text.
- Supports the development of web content for department. Works with Chair and faculty to develop and maintain content for the web site. Ensures that the content of the department web site is kept current. Maintains the consistency of style, format and navigation across the web site. Writes, edits and updates information in a format and style appropriate for internet communications.
