SEH is currently searching for a talented Senior Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team! If you are a PLS in the United States and looking for a fully remote position with the opportunity to travel, this position is for YOU.

When you join SEH’s Surveying Team, you're laying the foundation for project success through accurate fieldwork, and detailed and precise documentation. You'll use the latest technologies and advanced equipment, including drones, to collect the data necessary to support future planning, design, and construction. The types of projects you will support range from large urban complex projects to residential and commercial properties to transportation infrastructure.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage and direct field crew activities
  • Continue to build and maintain client relationships
  • Conduct boundary research and field surveys including route and property surveys, and ALTA surveys,
  • Prepare right-of-way plats, parcel sketches, data reduction and calculations
  • Oversee preparation of topographic maps and site plans from survey information collected
  • Collaborate with engineers and other land survey staff on civil and site development, transportation related planning, design and construction projects.
  • Work on projects such as streets, highways, airports, railroad, sewers, site development and more!

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in surveying or related field
  • PLS Licensure in any state and willing to obtain a license in any of the following states, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Nebraska within one (1) year of employment
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of surveying experience
  • Strong working knowledge of modern survey methods, including use of total station and GPS equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH’s Driving Program.
  • Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry, lift, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 40 pounds if/as needed
  • Must be willing to travel to the Midwest for project site visits when needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Trimble Equipment and Software
  • Business development experience
  • Proficiency with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation

Base compensation is expected to be in the following ranges based on skill set and experience:

10+ years experience: $40 /hr - $60 /hr
