Job Summary
Avantor is looking for a dedicated Sr. Production Associate to optimize our Production team, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives.This role will be a full-time position based out of our Valencia, CA office. You will have the opportunity to mechanical assemble in a fast paced, manual production environment. If you have experience in working from procedures, visual samples, blueprints, and bills of materials (BOM). Are able to build and test product with help from Lead Assemblers and willing to be cross trained in different areas in production. – let’s talk!
What we’re looking for
- Education: High School Diploma / GED is preferred
- Experience: 2-3 years in a fast-paced, high-volume, electro-mechanical production assembly environment is required
- Ability to work independently/in a group setting/with direct supervision is required
- Skilled in mechanical assembly, soldering, and wiring is required
- Ability to receive training and instructions from others is required
- Ability to interact and work with production associates, manufacturing engineering and quality control is required
- Ability to lift 40 lbs is required

- Preferred Qualifications: Good communication skills (oral and written) is preferred
- Basic computer skills for email, online and office applications is preferred
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Build motor assemblies and subassemblies using verbal instructions, procedures, samples, blueprints, and BOMs.
- Operate machinery used for manufacturing, winding and assembling fractional DC motors and armatures.
- Lift and move 8-pound assemblies during 90-minute intervals.
- Use air driven tools, hand tools, presses, solder stations, and measuring instruments.
- Learn the correct method of operation and procedure for assembly being produced.
- Visually inspect parts, castings, and sub-assemblies for accuracy or flaws prior to performing operation(s).
- Repair and replace assemblies and parts in motors.
- Stand and walk; use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel, handle, feel, talk and hear.
- Maintain standard production rates and quality standards.
- Perform light material handling work when required
- Rotate positions and work in different work cells.
- Dependable in areas of attendance, quality and work pace.
- Familiar with plant safety concepts and able to identify potential safety concerns
- Performs other duties as assigned.
