The South Texas Engineering Technician will be a member of the South Texas Asset team reporting to the STX Completions Design Manager. The STX Engineering Tech will assume the primary engineering support function for the STX Completions Design team with secondary support to the Engineering Development team and STX Asset Manager. This role will also be involved with lookback studies, data management, standard report distribution, data preparation in support of engineering studies, Harmony Analytics project support, financial data pulls/analysis and presentation support. This position operates under moderate review while handling assignments of a broad scope and moderate difficulty.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Assemble/analyze data and reporting from various internal systems including Aries, AVM, WellView, Denodo, Finance cubes, various info links and third-party data

  • Assist engineers by maintaining/reporting on completions metrics after each pad group
  • Build and manage tools in Spotfire to analyze and communicate completions and well performance data to team
  • Utilize project management tools to organize, communicate and track project status; Project Management certification/training is a plus
  • Responsible for tracking offset operator activity, working with GIS team and delivering monthly updates to operations and planning teams on planned/ongoing activities
  • Assist engineers in supporting completions lookback studies
  • Assist with multi-layered science data management and organization; organize, maintain, and distribute standard reports
  • Document completions design perf selections under the direction of engineering staff and maintain landowner requirements on ShareFile
  • Assist with monthly accruals and budget tracking
  • Assist engineers with MPI (Magnitude of Pressure Interference) data collection and analysis preparation
  • Harmony project support – managing data, new well setup and managing connections to outside programs in support of engineers
  • Assist with monthly nominations process
  • Enverus research and analysis
  • May support Investor Relations
  • Build, design, generate and distribute monthly reports based on standard procedures to provide project performance tracking and ensure accuracy of data
  • Initiate and develop more accurate and reliable data analyses and reporting methodologies
  • Monitor new technologies and make recommendations on ways to be innovative
  • Advanced Spotfire skills required; Alteryx, programming and Aries skills are a plus
  • Other duties as assigned

Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Advanced knowledge of the industry and operations. Advanced use of Excel formulas including VLOOKUP, MATCH, TRANSPOSE, PivotTable, PowerPivot, etc. Advanced knowledge of the following discipline specific skills:

  • Reservoir: Data management including the ability to push and pull data between systems to be used for analysis, creatively addressing problems
  • Completions: Completions design and execution

Education:
Technical associate degree or related training required. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred.

Typical Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field or industry.

Schedule: A/B schedule working A week in the office and B week from home.
