The Parkway Maintenance Spray Technician position is responsible for providing general grounds, weed, pest control and plant disease control and maintenance for the residents of the On Top of the World Communities. This is a visible position and must maintain professionalism throughout the community.

Responsibilities:

• Selects proper chemicals to use, including herbicide, insecticide, fungicide, or fertilizer
• Reads, understands, and applies chemicals according to the label and restrictions
• Applies proper spray techniques and signage at all times
• Operates and maintains spray equipment correctly and safely
• Maintains proper spray records per Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) licensing requirements
• Maintains all equipment in proper working order, including daily preventive maintenance checks, cleaning, and refueling
• Identifies grass and plant disease and stress indicators
• Reports any damages or potential hazards to Crew Leader
• Performs loading, unloading, and inventory procedures daily
• Calibrates and cleans equipment and mixes, labels, and stores chemicals
• Communicates with residents to identify their lawn issues and explains treatment being applied
• Observes and treats areas in the community to prevent the spread of disease and works proactively to prevent work orders
• Stays current with new products, their rates, and when, where and how to use them
• Responsible for daily safety checks
• Answers resident questions about grounds maintenance in a courteous and professional manner
• Must maintain a current and active BMP Certification
• Works in a team-based environment to accomplish assigned tasks and meet production standards
• Ensures proper use Personnel Protective Equipment and stays focused and engaged
• Maintains a high level of community mindedness
• Performs all duties in adherence to Company standards
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous grounds and equipment experience preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

• Must be able to read, write and understand English and follow written and oral instructions
• Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
• Ability to read, understand and apply chemical label and restrictions;

Certifications and Licenses

• Certifications: Current BMP Certification Preferred
• A valid Florida Drivers License with acceptable driving history is preferred
