Position: Special Education Teacher – Resource Room

Hours per Day : 7 hours (minimum 35 hours per week—1.0 FTE)

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor Degree
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, Highly Qualified, with state certification as: Special Education teacher of Emotionally Impaired (SE) or Learning Disabled (SM) or Cognitively Impaired (SA) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents and staff
• Basic understanding and working knowledge of the IEP process
• Evidence of strong behavior management skills; CPI training required
• Demonstrated ability with alternative communication models, IEP’s
