Job Summary:

As a Special Procedures Technologist, is responsible for following established protocol under the medical supervision of the performing Physician. Special Procedures Technologists will perform procedures for the direct results of interpretation. Technologists will assist the physician during procedures as needed and be responsible for supervision of student Radiologic Technologists assigned to them. As an Interventional Radiology scheduler, is responsible for the scheduling of all Outpatient Interventional Radiology procedures including Special Procedures, CT, US and Diagnostic Interventional procedures. Encourages and maintains good customer relations with fellow employees and physicians as well as referring physicians and office staff,

Minimum Qualifications :

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals.

Experience: 5 years experience in radiologic technology. Previous experience in Special Procedures and/or in cardiac catheterization technology preferred

Licensure/Certification: Registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT). Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Preferred CVT registry with the ARRT. Certified or documentation that certification has been applied for with the SCRQSA.

Knowledge/Skills: Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have demonstrated ability to perform and teach Special Procedures exams to produce satisfactory images for interpretation. Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA and TJC standards and regulations. Responsible for safe operation of Special Procedures equipment. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Able to use routine office equipment including PC, Phone, fax, as well as MS Office software, scheduling programs, etc.

Other: Requires a mature individual who projects a professional and business-like appearance. Must maintain strict confidentiality of work related information. Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to successfully manage complicated scheduling of patients, procedures and physicians across the system
