Job description
Mazak is looking for a Southeast Regional Service Manager to join the Service team at the Southeast Technology Center. The Regional Service Manager is accountable to manage the Service Techs, Coordinators and Contractors engaged in the installation, service, and repair of Mazak equipment and machinery at customer sites in an assigned region.
Essential Job Functions:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Establishes goals; develops and implements plans to ensure achievement of assigned goals.
- Plans, assigns, and directs service work.
- Interacts daily with customers and employees as required.
- Receives customer request for service assistance.
- Provides pay work estimates and quotes to external customers as required.
- Initiates and assigns Field Service job orders.
- Maintains services records in a Field Service database.
- Prepares and reviews invoices for pay work.
- Provides work scope information to internal customers as required.
- Prepares and provides project schedule when required.
- Receives and analyzes Service Representative's inquiries.
- Provides technical data or specific instructions to facilitate customer machine solutions.
- Evaluates service activity on machines in and out of warranty to determine whether servicing will be on a charge or no-charge basis.
- Initiates requests for repair parts.
- Coordinates and expedites as required, repair parts to obtain realistic delivery dates.
- Suggests and schedules investigative tests, repair, and rebuild as required.
- Assists customers to resolution on issues associated with the company's machine problems.
- Develops, coaches and/or mentors direct reports.
- Ensures consistent application of company policies and practices.
- Handles unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refers issue to the appropriate individual.
- Compiles database of recurring complaints or problems on machines or with company personnel, and solutions for future reference.
- Develops and implements training plans for direct reports.
- Schedules and approves overtime, takes disciplinary action, as necessary.
- Establishes and controls budgets.
- Works overtime and/or off-shifts as required by business needs.
- Works and interacts with other people on a regular basis.
- Supervises service technicians in the assigned region.
- Carries out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; completes performance evaluations; initiates salary adjustments; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Required education and experience:
- Three to six months related experience and/or training.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
- Effective negotiations.
- Good product knowledge.
- Knowledge of costing and margins.

- Ability to effectively communication - spoken, written, formal presentations.
