This exciting opportunity in the City of Pembroke Pines operates 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.) and offers excellent compensation and benefits including health insurance and 401(k) with a Company match.
JOB SUMMARY / CHARACTERISTICS
Under the general direction of the Police Department, this position is responsible for providing software support for department personnel. Ensures that software systems are maintained in compliance with established standards and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Researches and resolves issues by writing simple to complex queries against databases.
- Monitor, track, and resolve requests that come in by phone, email or through the support ticketing system.
- Manages workload and competing priorities to accomplish tasks within agreed upon timeframes.
- Provides customer facing support, including a proactive approach to improving levels of service where possible.
- Installing, testing, and making software available to appropriate users.
- Liaising with external support agencies to quickly resolve faults.
- Providing technical support by utilizing remote control and Windows administration tools.
- Create ad hoc reports for public records requests and upper management.
- Establish, maintain, document, and provide daily and sometimes after-hours end-user support for computer systems and applications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field; supplemented by two (2) years of work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Exposure to Information Technology, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including simple to complex queries.
- Experience with Crystal Reports or similar report development programs.
- Prior use of Law Enforcement/Public Safety Applications is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Audio/Video Security Applications preferred.
