JOB OBJECTIVES (Purposes of the position):
Work with school personnel in locating and helping children whose social, economic, or emotional problems inhibit school success
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):
Strategic Goal Area I – Student Achievement
1. Develop mechanism for collecting data and identifying patterns of behavior as problem intervention
2. Determine assessment activity needed to gather data relative to needs of child
3. Identify potential factors in school and home environment which may impact child’s progress
4. Work with school personnel in locating and helping children whose social, economic, or emotional problems inhibit school success
5. Manage data collection and reporting with regard to student attendance protocol
Strategic Goal Area II – Stakeholder Engagement & Loyalty
1. Promote a positive relationship between home and school
2. Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents
Strategic Goal Area III – Efficient and Effective Organizational Processes
1. Adhere to applicable education and social service laws
2. Consult with school personnel regarding suspected child abuse and/or neglect
3. Maintain appropriate recordsStrategic Goal Area IV – Continuous System and School Improvement
4. Any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Student and Administrative Support Services
OTHER EXPECTATIONS
1. Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia
2. Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance/timelines
3. Complete assignments and requirements on time and in compliance with directions
4. Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly
5. Maintain confidentiality of information and records for students and staff
6. Communicate effectively with students, peers, administration, parents and public
7. Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with students, peers, administration, parents and public
8. Follow and enforce regulations concerning student conduct, discipline and attendance
JOB STANDARDS (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions):
1. Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW with SSW/VT certification or a Master’s degree in Social Work) MSW with SSW/VT certification
2. Three years of acceptable work experience
3. Current Georgia Drivers License
JOB LOCATION (Place(s) where work is performed):
Home sites in Carroll County and all Carroll County Schools (K-12)
EQUIPMENT (Machines, devices, tools, etc., used in job performance):
Current Technology
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE (Needed for this job specifically):
1.Social skills
2.Knowledge of community agencies and services
3.Knowledge of alternatives and strategies needed for referrals made
