The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD has an opening for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor for the elementary/middle school program starting with the current school year. KTS serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade with language and learning differences, autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or other health impairments that affect their learning. We address the individual needs of each student to facilitate success at home, school, and in the community. EOE

Working Hours for this position are 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This position is an 11-month school year position.

Responsibilities of the Social Work Supervisor Include:

• Supervise approximately 3-4 school based social workers
• Maintain some direct clinical work with students to provide IEP counseling services
• Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to foster student growth, both academically and behaviorally
• Perform case reviews, parent support groups, family support and education, parent conferences, interdisciplinary team meetings, liaison with community agencies, play therapy, student counseling and behavior management
• Maintain appropriate clinical record keeping to assure that school standards for clinical accountability/quality programming are upheld

Social Work Supervisor Requirements Include:

• Master's degree (MSW) in social work
• Active MD Board of Social Work license (LCSW or LCSW-C)
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in therapy or school social work to include working with children with functioning autism and a variety of learning disabilities
• Supervisory experience required; at least 2 years preferred
• Experience with educational agencies, special needs populations, and interdisciplinary teams helpful
• Must maintain current licensure and certification status consistent with state and professional standards

As a condition of employment, all employees are required to have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. New hires must receive any additional vaccine doses in the appropriate timeframes to be considered fully vaccinated and submit weekly test results until they are fully vaccinated.
