based on experience and credentials
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
(60% travel required)
The Small Business Consultant Manager is the primary point of contact for small business consultants and small business members in the business lending department. An ideal candidate prioritizes the time of members and consultants to meet the sales and service needs of small businesses. Key responsibilities include uncovering the needs of small business members by connecting them to small business consultants who can offer the appropriate financial solutions and services. An ideal candidate is an expert on small business products, services, and strategies.

Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of small business consultants
- Assist with the development of the strategic plan for Small Business Consultants (SBCs)
- Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Build and nurture strong relationships by effectively collaborating to meet deadlines
- Coordinate the branch activities of SBCs
- Develop new business and generate revenue by maintaining an extensive network of business contacts such as COIs, community leaders, and other referral sources
- Manage and grow the pipeline within production expectations
- Collaborate with local chambers of commerce, development agencies, solicitors, accountants, and other COIs
- Communicate and problem-solve across multiple layers of the organization
- Provide solutions and remediation plans to drive efficiency and process improvements
- Support members with their inquiries regarding escalated concerns
- Coordinate across other lines of business departments to ensure the end-to-end process is implemented
- Identify opportunities for process improvements
- Support small business consultants with loan structure, time management & product selection
- Review daily referrals and ensure prompt communication with the members
- Review and recommend new methods or procedures to make daily operations more efficient
- Set goals and objectives for team members to achieve operational and strategic results
- Direct and guide supervisors
- Develop and mentor directly reporting staff and respond appropriately to feedback or concerns
- Cultivate strong working relationships and build trust among team members
- Interpret and implement management policies, utilizing short-term planning, scheduling, and coordinating for the department
- Assist senior management with developing and implementing long-term and short-term business objectives
- Develop, monitor, and maintain the department budget in cooperation with senior management
- Assist the Vice President with regulatory compliance to ensure the department is in accordance with applicable laws and government regulations
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements
- 3+ years of business lending experience
- 3+ years of experience managing, building, leading, and coaching a sales team
- 3+ years of experience in financial services with financial information, spreadsheets, and financial skills
- Ability to travel to networking events and branches throughout Florida
- Strong knowledge of small business products and services, including credit and lending solutions
- Strong organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage areas of responsibility and attain goals
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Ability to comprehensibly communicate policies, practices, and procedures to direct reports and stakeholders
