Whitefish Mountain Resort (Winter Sports, Inc)
Title: Ski/Snowboard Technician
Department: Base Lodge Rentals or Village Equipment Rentals
Level: Full Time (FTS) or Part Time Seasonal (PTS)
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Job Summary: This position must have a strong knowledge of the rental/repair operation. This position works closely with entire rental/repair staff. Staff will also be asked to sell Retail items and must be able to provide accurate inventory counts as requested. This position also interacts with the Retail Department relative to cross-selling and accounting of demo ski/snowboard equipment sales. This person also needs to have a good knowledge of all aspects of ski techniques (Alpine, Nordic, Telemark, Snowboard) in order to complete repairs. May work at Village Equipment Rental Shop located in the upper village or at the Base Lodge Rental Shop located on the 2nd story of the Base Lodge.

Job Specifications:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Past proven experience in a rental/repair operation required.
- Experience with ski and boot repairs is preferred.
- Experience working directly with the public required.
- Knowledge of ski/snowboard industry required.
- Past binding certification training preferred.
- Be an advocate of excellent guest service. Ensure guests are taken care of in a friendly, efficient manner. Ability to deal with difficult guests and deal with problem resolution.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be able to function effectively with guests and staff.
- Skiing/Snowboarding experience is preferred, but actual ski time is not part of the job.
Specific Duties:
- Learn and implement proper operating procedures as they relate to completion of rental/repair forms, cash register operation, open/close procedures and additional tasks.
- Ensure that rental paperwork completed and filed properly. Also ensure that all equipment is accounted for at the end of the day and returns are properly noted & filed away as per procedures set forth.
- Complete and pass all binding manufacturers’ indemnification testing.
- Follow all polices and procedures as set out in rental operation training.

- Maintain a ski rental maintenance program.
- Provide quality repair service, ski/snowboard/boot repairs and boot fitting, requires knowledge of all hand tools and tuning equipment.
- Must be able to work efficiently is a safe manner, providing guests with quality service.
- Knowledge of all safety measures in front and back of shop operations.
- Willingness to assist in any other activities within the Whitefish Mountain Resort organization in order to develop teamwork with other departments and associates.
- Ability to work within framework of Rental & WSI policies and procedures. Must be able to meet goals.
- Support Guest Services Cross-Sell Plan, Rental Business Plan and make recommendations as necessary.
Work Environment:
- Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to be on one’s feet for extended time periods up to 4-8 hours.
- Includes light to moderate physical activity, including bending, stooping, lifting etc. on a routine basis.
- Work on weekends, holidays, and some evenings are part of the responsibilities associated with this position.

Safety & Wellness:
All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity.
