Site Manager for The Resource Center
Job description
MHA is hiring immediately for a Site Manager for The Resource Center. The Resource Center is a day service which supports its members in their physical and cognitive rehab after surviving a stroke or other life changing event. The Site Manager works as part of the team that supports The Resource Center’s members in their occupational rehabilitation through recreation, cognitive stimulation, and social skill building. This is a unique management opportunity that allows for the balance of leadership while still working directly with people in a fun, innovative way. Perform responsibilities professionally, in collaboration with other team members in accordance with MHA’s Core Values (Respect, Integrity, and Compassion), policies, practices, program funding and applicable regulatory agency guidelines. This position is an hourly manager role with no call, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
The Site Manager Position’s Essential Functions
- Providing instruction and support to new team members and interns
- To provide a therapeutic environment to the members of the center
- Ensure proper documentation takes place to mark the progress each member makes
- Work with Program Coordinator to support the Day Services Counselors to provide services at the highest standard of care
- Ensure the safety and dignity of all members served through The Resource Center
- Work to support the overall daily operations of this unique, cutting edge center.
The Site Manager's Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a safe reliable vehicle during working hours.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, take initiative, follow through, and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Good oral, written, computer, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing needs of the program participants.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring, and compassion.
- Must be able to pass and maintain certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and first aid.
- Must be at least eighteen years old.
- Have experience and interest facilitating groups or classes for others
- Have demonstrated leadership skills to support a team to reach their maximum potential
- Be willing to bring their passions and hobbies into the service to share with others who might be exploring their own.
- Be ready to support those who need accommodation to find their joy by adapting activities through low and high tech supports.
- Have the patience and persistence to be there for someone at their most vulnerable time.
The Site Manager's Required Education and Experience
- Demonstrated leadership ability, preferably from a professional level
- At least 3 years experience working with populations with cognitive impairments/challenges or mental health concern; those with experience working with brain injuries encouraged to apply
- A passion that you are willing to bring to others. Examples include technology, crafting, DIY, cooking, physical health.
- Candidates with experience in supporting those in recovery or with experience running clinical groups encouraged to apply.
