ABOUT US:

J-LOK of West Kentucky is looking to fill the position of Production/Shift Supervisor at its plant located in Earlington, Kentucky. This is a first line supervisory position where the employee directs the activities of plant personnel to efficiently produce, store, and transport durable plastic resin cartridges meeting ASTM F-432-95 standards for use with roof support systems for the mining and tunneling industries.

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• One-to-Two (1-2) Years Supervisor Experience Preferred
• Six-to-Twelve (6-12) Months On The Job Training Preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess intermediate level interpersonal and communication skills to effectively direct production worker activities
• Possess knowledge of production scheduling and plant operations and be familiar with product construction and application
• Possess good organizational skills and be a self-motivated individual who can work independently
• Possess multi-tasking skills with ability to prioritize and adapt to changing situations
• Possess basic computer literacy particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Possess quality and safety oriented mindset
• Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on time
• Possess close visual acuity and upper limb coordination
• Possess ability to sit, stand, or walk as needed
• Possess functional reading/math skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct the work of skilled and unskilled workers in processes which may be continuous, or work such as storage and warehousing.
• Ensure efficient coordination of flow of products in accordance with schedules.
• Ensure adherence to safe work practices and standard operating procedures and reports problems to management personnel.
• Assist in training and settling in of new workers.
• Maintains good morale in the workplace via unbiased problem-solving and minor dispute resolution, referring those of a more serious nature to more senior management.
• May assist in staffing work roster on the current shift.
• May be required to attend off-site corporate supervisory training sessions.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by executive management
