Job Qualifications:
Unique Loom is hiring for an Experienced Industrial Sewing Associate to join our team.
Repair any handmade or machine made area rug —braided jute rugs, mechanical or other type
Primary Responsibilities:
- Sew Rugs within established standards while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high degree of workmanship.
- Comply with safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Advanced skills in hand sewing and finishing
- Hand Serging - Applying hand sewn stitches to bind the edges of rugs to prevent them from unraveling
- All other duties as required by business need
- 1+ years experience with hand sewing repair and maintenance of rugs.
- Job includes small and big rugs
- Attention to detail is a MUST!!
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to distinguish between colors
- Able to lift/move up to 75-175 pounds with assistance
- Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
