Job description
- Coordinate and participate in clinic servic e activities to achieve continuous and optimal patient care. Roles a ndResponsibilities Coordinate and participate in department/clinic s ervice activities to include greeting, interviewing, registering, an dscheduling patients in a registration setting.
- Co ordinate diagnostic and treatment activities of the department/clini cwith services of other departments to ensure effective patient care and efficient service via referrals.
- AssistFi nancial Care Counselors in determining sponsorship eligibility, and routing cases to financial team when patient is un/underinsured orha s a plan that is noncontracted.
- Maintain liai son with professional medical staff and other personnel in administe ring policies and procedures regarding patient flow and utilization of space, time, supplies and equipment.
- Provid e recommendations to the Service Access Manager on policies and proc edures to improve patient care and utilization of department resourc es.
- Plan and schedule work for the staff ensur ing proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space a nd facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
- Responsible for or provide recommendations on various personnelact ions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions and vacation schedules.
- Coordinateand p articipate in department activities to assist the Health CenterAdmin istrator within Duke Health Access Services including but notlimited to scheduling, patient registration and assisting with scheduling g uidelines.
- Coordinate diagnostic and treatment activities centered on scheduling.
- Train new personnel. Create, maintain and updated training documentsto be kept on a shared drive. Create a training curriculum for staf f members. Report system, facility, or entity updates to staff as th ey are received.
- Run PRMO reports. Coordinate with Service Access Manager on deadlines for reporting
- Have character and the ability to de-escalat ing angry patients
- Distribution of workassignments . Provide recommendations to manager based on scheduling trends seen from the appointment coordinators and patient service reps.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma required.
Experience
Four years of experience in a healthcare setting is required. An Associate's degree in healthcare or business may substitute for two years of experience. A Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare may substitute for four years of experience.
