The Electromechanical segment provides automation and precision motion control solutions, as well as electrical interconnects, specialty metals, and thermal management systems.

Job Description

• Client Server Power and Performance Optimizations is looking for a server lab technician. Candidate will be working with a small engineering team to help ensure our systems are moved, operational, and configured correctly.
• We are responsible for measuring the power and performance of various server platforms including both internal and competitive systems.
• We need someone who is comfortable with server assembly, basic operation, and SW installation.
• Candidate would also be responsible for racking, stacking and maintaining servers as well as inventorying and installing parts (e.g. processors, memory, storage, NICs, etc.) for both rack and bench systems.
• Candidate would serve as a key enabler for offsite relocation of systems and peripherals to colocation which involves coordinating with internal team and the colocation to prepare systems and hardware for shipment.

Requirements:

• Physical Requirements – Candidate needs to be able to lift up to 50lbs and be flexible enough to get under a raised floor and anything involved in moving systems between racks.
• Mindset for keeping and updating inventories of systems and peripherals for onsite and offsite uses.
• Familiarity and proficiency with hardware handling and installation – Candidate must be able to install and remove CPUs, memory, peripherals, and storage media (e.g. SSDs, NVMe, etc.).

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

• Prioritize and efficiently manage several concurrent projects and tasks.
• Good communication skills – Candidate must be able to clearly communicate observations in the lab to remote and onsite engineers.
• Candidate must be able to ask clarifying questions to accomplish tasks.
• Willingness to learn – Candidate must be able to quickly learn line-of-business applications in Client for specific documentation and communication tasks.
• Basic proficiency in both Linux and Windows – Candidate must be able to install an OS from ISO on a system.
• Attention to detail – Candidate must have good attention to detail. Inventory and requests can sometimes be complex.
• Self-starter – Candidate must be a self-starter and highly motivated. The candidate will be working alone often and will need to be able to prioritize issues and work sometimes with minimal oversight.
• Prior experience in server assembly, software installation, server operation.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Friendly, helpful and a can-do attitude.
