The California Yacht Club is seeking for Full-Time or Part-Time restaurant servers. This position contributes to the success of the California Yacht Club (“Club”) by creating positive experiences for every customer, guest, and co-worker in providing expedient and attentive food and beverage service.

KEY RESULTS & TASKS

• Create a warm and welcoming dining environment.
• Welcome members in dining room by name.
• Take food order and serve food for members and guests in restaurant and outdoor food areas as assigned.
• Be well versed with all the menus in the Main Dining Room and bar, their basic preparation, and how they are to be served; present specials and answer questions accurately and enticing.
• Have a detailed understanding of the wine list and wines by the glass; suggest wine pairings that are appropriate for the food ordered.
• Use effective suggestive sales skills to present Specials and upsell food, drinks, and desserts.
• Maintain accurate knowledge of current Club events and answer members/guests questions accurately and in an inviting manner.
• Be well versed in the Club's history; promote club whenever appropriate to members/guests.
• Enter tickets in POS system (North Star); process all transactions efficiently and accurately in the system.
• Report member/guest issues with food or service immediately to supervisor.
• Attend to the needs of all guests, including those beyond seated in your station when their server is not available.
• Assist Banquet department as needed.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Required: Reliable attendance is a Must; Restaurant is open Wednesday - Sunday for Lunch and Dinner.
• Required: Full time employees must be able to work at least 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week with occassional OT
• Required: Part-Time employees must be available to work at least 2 days a week and 3 to 5 hour shifts.
• Required: A minimum of 1 year experience in same or similar position in a fine dining restaurant, private club or hotel
• Required: Must be at least 18 years old
• Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Required: Ability to elicit and accept constructive feedback.
• Required: Ability and willingness to work over time as needed.
