Expectations:
Carry out assigned quality assurance or other assigned duties in support of the Quality Department and all personnel.
- Assist in the management of the quality program
- Monitor daily compliance of safety and good manufacturing practices
- Assist in reaching production goals
- Instructing and coaching sanitation personnel and production personnel, as needed
- Other duties, as assigned.
Responsibilities:
In all areas, assist the Director of Quality in the technical and organizational development (training of staff; creation of capacity for staff to be able to carry out tasks in support of achieving goals; and delegation of day-to-day activities) to enable highest safety and quality, and meeting NCB, SQF, customer and applicable regulatory standards.
- Food Safety:
- Help to ensure the food safety meets or exceeds federal and customer requirements
• Assist in the:
- Development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System.
- Communication to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System.
- Perform validation and verification activities, as needed.
- Product sampling, inspection, and analysis.
- Scheduling and conducting internal audits.
- Ensure that all raw materials and products in all stages of production and storage shall be identified and traceable. Test traceability up and down one level no less than annually.
• Food Quality:
- Assist the Director of Quality in ensuring products consistently meet internal and customer stated specifications and with particular attention to weights, labeling accuracy, and sensory characteristics.
• Personnel Safety:
- Oversee and promote safe operations by personnel.
- Report any unsafe conditions or repeated unsafe actions by team members to appropriate member of Senior Management.
Skills:
- Strong computer skills with Excel, Word, email, network environment.
- Strong communication skills in all directions within the company.
- High degree of reliability and responsibility, focus, ability to prioritize, and ability to work independently and within a team
- Demonstrated basic technology and machinery management in the modern, food production environment
- Demonstrated leadership in efficient and profitable production
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and solve problems within a team environment
Education:
* Minimum, applicable 2-year college degree
* Certification in HACCP, SQF, and/or PCQI, preferred
* Minimum, 1-year experience in food production environment
* Leadership experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $15.50 per hour
