Department Overview
The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E’s electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.

Position Summary
The Electric Contract Specialist job family is responsible for the management of electrical, substation, civil and transmission maintenance, construction and service commercial contracts in Electric Operations. Incumbents work closely with key Electric Operations departments and functions including project managers, construction managers, engineering, law, sourcing and others to ensure that all commercial contracts are enforced according to the general and project-specific conditions.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Position Schedule: M-F, 40 Hours

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is: ​

Bay Area Minimum: $90,000
Bay Area Maximum: $136,000
and/or
California Minimum: $​86,000
California Maximum: $129​,000

Job Responsibilities Manages moderately complex contracts and change order terms, including contract interpretation and recommending risk mitigations. Develops contract documents focusing on compliance with scope and corporate standard practices, policies and procedures. Consults on the development of contracts, bids, agreements and request for proposals (RFPs), working with key stakeholders. In coordination with Law, performs research and develops contract language for negotiations and to mitigate risk. Seeks out and leverages alternate supplier resources and assesses capabilities. Performs contract onboarding including terms validation, internal and supplier mobilization, and analyzes and identifies solutions to mitigate or minimize risks. Negotiates change order terms within contracts, bids and agreements, and resolves contract interpretation disputes with suppliers. Works on moderately complex contract problems and issues that require in- depth analysis and judgement to obtain resolution. Provides coaching and guidance to other contract specialists

Qualifications

Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
4 years of job-related experience in construction, utilities, project, or procurement.

Desired:
Masters Degree in Construction Management or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Utility industry experience
Experience in project controls, or related
CPP-Certified Purchasing Professional Certification
SPSM-Senior Professional in Supply Management certification
PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
