Laborie Medical Technologies is currently searching for a Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the Portsmouth, NH office on a hybrid basis (1-2x/week).
Position Overview:
Support the operations financial close for varied locations and prepare monthly financial reporting including KPIs to review with Finance, Plant Managers, and operations teams. Standardize reporting across all divisions. Partner with the management team to drive cost savings initiatives and other projects. Support Manager in all aspects of inventory including month-end reconciliation, excess and obsolete reserve analysis, cycle counting analysis, and approval of inventory write-offs per policy. Assist in the preparation of Capital Expenditure Requests and Capital spend budgets/forecasts.
How you contribute:
- Support Month-end inventory, manufacturing variance, COGS and capital expenditure reporting and analysis
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis as needed
- Research, validate and calculate Labor and Overhead variances
- Business partner with operations team members
- Assist with Forecast, AOP, Strategic Plan and Audit as required
- Review bill of materials and changes to ensure accuracy in plant operations and inventory valuation
- Support implementation of metrics for production efficiency
- Prepare and analyze standard costs prior to rolling into ERP system
- Support annual budget and forecast process for operations
- Support preparation of reports and reconciliations for Audits
- Assist with Capital Expenditure request preparation and routing, annual Capital Spend Budget and Forecast
- Prepare financial models for decision making as needed (i.e., make-buy analysis)
- Establish product cost estimates and product costs for new items and integrate into costing system
- Support annual physical inventory count and daily cycle counts
- Support SAP / Systems implementation as required
- Participate in cost savings initiatives such as kaizen, VSM, and/or Six Sigma GB as opportunities arise with Operations
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years in Accounting or Finance positions with the majority in operations/manufacturing
- Undergraduate degree required CPA/CMA/MBA preferred
- SAP experience 3-5 years preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI
- Exposure to Planful, BPC, Oracle EPM, Blackline helpful
- Demonstrated Professionalism in written and verbal communications
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team
