Job Title: Senior Computational Biologist, Spatial Genomics
Reports To: STOmics Manager
Department: Single-Cell Research
Location: San Jose, California
Job Summary
This position is for a Bioinformatics scientist to develop analytical pipelines to integrate spatial transcriptomics and proteomics data to gain more biological insights that are not accessible using transcriptomics or proteomics data alone. The ideal candidate will have experience with analyzing single-cell or spatial multi-omics data. We are seeking motivated and creative individuals who can work closely with peer scientists from cross-functional teams to analyze spatial multi-omics data, and provide solid bioinformatic support to R&D team.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and standardize processing and analytical pipelines for spatial transcriptomics and proteomics data integration, including quality control and in-depth data mining.
- Collaborate with peer scientists from cross-functional teams to analyze and interpret muti-omics datasets, and support wet-lab scientists on technology development.
- Meet production deadlines for data analysis and be able to manage multiple projects
- Cross-team collaboration to develop multi-omics data visualization tools and user interface.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or closely related discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in analyzing large NGS datasets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with analyzing spatial transcriptomics data (Visium, MERFISH, In situ sequencing etc.), or imaging data.
- Experience with analyzing Nanostring GeoMx® DSP, CosMx™ SMI or Akoya CODEX ® data.
- Experience with analyzing diverse types of NGS data, especially RNA-Seq and/or CITE-seq data.
- Experience with images and development of image analysis tools.
