Position: Senior Compositor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Emmy award-winning EncoreVFX currently has an opening for a Senior Compositor. The perfect candidate needs to be a dependable, team player with a great attitude, and flexible with our fast turnarounds. They will work closely with VFX Supervisor and VFX Producer in achieving the highest creative and technical standards of work. This position will be located in Los Angeles, CA.

MAIN DUTIES:

The Senior Compositor will be responsible for the most difficult shots. They will seamlessly integrate the various layers or elements of a live-action shot. They will bring the ability to tackle shots from start to finish, including roto, tracking, paint, animation and creation of elements, etc.

• Matte extractions from blue/green screen photography.

• Strong attention to detail, sense of color, colourspace and lighting.

• Composite Multi-Pass CG Elements to create photo real shots.

• Clean and efficient script organization.

• Communicate progress of work to Coordinator and Producer in a timely fashion.

• Assist in training compositing staff by utilizing roto/track/paint team.

WHAT YOU BRING:

The Senior Compositor will bring previous experience as a compositor in episodic, commercial or feature VFX. They must excel in tracking and blue/green screens comps. They will be proficient in Nuke, Photoshop, Boujou/Syntheyes/Mocha, Primatte/Keylight/Ultimatte.

• Knowledge of 3D particle systems, Fusion, and AfterEffects is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take criticism, and work under high pressure with short deadlines.

• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.

• Experience working with Shotgun software preferred.
