POSITION SUMMARY

Are you passionate about working with children and helping them to express and communicate their emotions appropriately? Then the Extended Day Program is for you!

The Senior Clinician for the Adolescent Extended Day provides clinical and case management services for children ages 6-12 and 12-17 for intensive group therapy based. The Senior Clinician will foster positive working relationships with clients, families and outside key stakeholders and utilize a strength based-solution focused model of care. The Senior Clinician will utilize a team approach while working in a therapeutic milieu.

This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus! $2,500 will be paid upon hire and $2,500 after 1 year.

Starting Salary $60,500

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Counseling or Social Work. Mut have at least 2 years post graduate experience.

Must hold one of the following credentials: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.

Valid Connecticut Driver’s License. Must possess or obtain and maintain a Public Passenger “A” Endorsement within 90 days of employment.

SCHEDULE

Full time 40 Hours a week

Hours during the school year are 11am-7pm

Hours during the summer are 830am-430pm (includes school vacations)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM).

Develops and documents, clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others as relevant.

Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention.

Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols.

Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations.

Ensures a structured and safe clinical milieu environment; utilizing a team approach with specified evidence based practices.

Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources.

Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner.

Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings.

Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program.

Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols.

Documents all client related information in compliance with agency policy.

Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives.

Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program.

Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
