As a Senior Benefits Administrator, you will independently administer assigned our Leaves and Disability benefit program and provide benefits administration and support for multiple benefit processes. Working closely with the Employee Benefits Team, you will perform professional, analytical, and technical duties in benefits administration for Premera's employee benefits programs. Assigned programs will include a combination of health and welfare programs, wellness programs, absence programs, retirement programs, statutory benefits, etc. The Benefits Administrator is responsible to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness in the day-to-day administration of assigned programs.
What you will do:
- Administrate assigned benefit programs and coordinate the administrative needs with the assistance of Premera’s vendors. Perform a wide range of analytical and transactional processes related to assigned programs.
- Remain current in benefits knowledge including staying abreast of laws and regulations that may affect Premera's benefit plans.
- Support the day-to-day and annual administration of the assigned programs. Review and process transactions and reconcile reports as needed.
- Develop and maintain procedures and policies for assigned programs and assist with the development and maintenance of procedure documentation for other benefit plan processes.
- Research and respond to benefit inquiries from active employees, retirees, and terminated employees related to any of Premera’s benefit plans.
- May be required to coordinate the transfer of information with internal partners and third-party administrators.
- Increase knowledge of all benefit areas and perform duties in support of benefit team responsibilities to meet deadlines, deliver on project work, and meet the requirements of benefit programs. May serve as backup to other benefit team members as needed.
Collaborate effectively with Benefits, Compensation, HR Operations, HR Staff, Payroll, and HRIS/HRT.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience plus eight years of relevant experience. (Required)
- Three to five years of experience in employee benefits administration. (Preferred)
