Jones Petroleum is in the process of interviewing candidates for a Senior accounts payable clerk position for our Jackson, GA office.The is a forty (40) hour a week position with benefits.
JOB SUMMARY: This position will perform full cycle accounts payable, assist with closing periods, and G/L functions including account reconciliation and journal entries. This position will ensure all incoming invoices are coded correctly, input, and paid timely while falling into the budget and expense guidelines.
Reports to the accounting department supervisor.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES:
- Enter invoices and pay vendors
- Maintain certificates of insurance and W-9 forms
- Prepare and record daily deposits
- Setup and maintain customer accounts
- Maintain A/R accounts and review for delinquency
- Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements
- Assist in month end processing
- Assist in balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Assist in processing year-end 1099 forms
- Ability to multi-task, follow up on pending issues and meet deadlines as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary
- High School Diploma
- Must have 3-5 years of experience in accounting
- Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in Excel
- Team player
- Good organization skills
- Good communication skills
