Summary:


This position will act as an accounting business partner to support the shared service center. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of internal and external financial statements and monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely results that comply with company guidelines and requirements.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Transact general ledger accounting processes supporting corporate accounting and shared service center; including managing the month end close for assigned areas of responsibility;
  • Provide accounting support to business units and departments as assigned;
  • Assist in accounting for stock-based compensation, including journal entries, reconciliations and reporting, leveraging outsourced vendor platform;
  • Prepare calculations of earnings per share, track shares outstanding and treasury share repurchases;
  • Support reconciliation and administration processes for various corporate managed areas including but not limited to: leases, fixed assets and intangibles;
  • Manage the monthly close and SEC reporting calendars, including associated deliverables;
  • Participate in the external reporting process with a focus on footnote and schedule support;
  • Support quarterly reviews and annual audit efforts, including coordination of requests globally;
  • Assist in creating the monthly financial reporting package;
  • Proactively identify process improvements and assist with implementations as needed;
  • Fully leverage IT systems to enhance closing and reporting process;
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as requested by management.

Knowledge and Skills:


The position will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager – Financial Reporting. The role will require close working relationships with key employees at Standex:


  • Chief Accounting Officer
  • CFO
  • Corporate Controller
  • Division Presidents and Managers
  • Treasury and Shared Financial Services Manager

Requires effective oral skills; excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. A high degree of accuracy, critical thinking, and attention to detail are all essential to success in the position. Must be a self-starter with continuous improvement mindset.


Educational Requirements/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • MBA/CPA a plus. 2+ years of solid accounting experience, exposure to stock-based compensation also a plus.
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office products and experience with ERP applications.
  • Experience with Epicor, SAP Business One and/or OneStream a plus.
