Position Summary:
Responsible for oversight and implementation of security programs for the eastern region of MPLX assets including 112 facilities. Provide security risk assessments, security plan development, and regulatory compliance guidance to a diverse asset group including gas plants, marine terminals, product terminals, tank farms, rail facilities and pipelines within a 12-state geographical area.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establishes security and protection strategies, priorities, and critical tasks at assigned sites and along distribution channels, including procedures, training, equipment, visitor and access controls, security communications and information sharing.
  • Manages facility security programs in accordance with company and facility protocols.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable security regulations including Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA).
  • Participates in Security Risk/Vulnerability Assessments and implements security measures to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Implements company Anti-Violence Workplace prevention policies.
  • Interacts with law enforcement, Homeland Security, and other government agency officials.
Education and Experience
  • 4 or more years of law enforcement, military, or security-related field
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field
Minimum Qualifications
  • Fully competent in the practices associated with the protection of property and individuals
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the risk assessment process
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of security incident prevention strategies and management
  • Fully competent in the major security regulatory compliance programs
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of investigative interviewing and fact-finding processes; conceptually understands Code of Conduct investigative processes
  • Ability to work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • MS Office skills; Word, Excel, Power-Point
  • Communication skills; Organize/develop and deliver leadership briefs
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with excellent driving record
  • Must be able to pass drug test and background check
Location
This position is preferred to be one of the following locations, however other locations will be considered and can expect travel up to 25-35% of the time, including some overnight travel. Preferred locations include:
