Job description

The Security Officer primary responsibility is to ensure safety and protection of the campus by patrolling buildings and campus grounds including all buildings, parking lots and outlying areas, on foot and by vehicle to deter crime, monitor for fire protection, and mechanical malfunctions and other safety hazards; ensure the security of all campus facilities of Maryland Masonic Homes and the Grand Lodge of MD. The Officer will be responsible to enforce parking regulations and conduct traffic control as needed. On a rotating basis, the Officer will also establish a professional and welcoming presence at the main and secondary entrances to greet, screen, check-in/check-out, direct and/or escort employees, visitors, residents and emergency personnel. The Officer will monitor surveillance equipment and will respond to all alarms and emergency situations and will participate in all emergency drills.

Minimum Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Min-3-5 years of experience as Security Officer preferable in health care setting.

Valid driver’s license and a clean MVR (3 years)

Must be fully vaccinated

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of security operations and procedures

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

High degree of professionalism and customer service skills

Ability to maintain calm during crisis

Ability to de-escalate situations with strong emotions during conflict

Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.

Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

MMH requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless the Company approves a request for a medical or religious exemption. New hires must be fully vaccinated with 2 COVID-19 vaccinations prior to their start date and must complete the full vaccination regimen, including a booster shot, within the timeframes recommended by the CDC.

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
