Second Degree Distance Hybrid BSN Clinical Coordinator
The clinical coordinator of the second-degree distance/Hybrid program will advise, encourage, support, and facilitate student nurses through the identification of learning opportunities in the clinical areas, and create an environment that is conductive to learning in order that students can achieve maximum outcomes from clinicals. The clinical coordinator will collaborate and work with Keypath to guide students and staff in clinical areas to ensure that clinicals meet the requirements of the educational program with regard to planned experiences and learning outcomes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Act as a link between the student, program coordinator, Keypath team, clinical instructor, preceptor and/or clinical agency representatives.
· Facilitate and communicate with nurse practitioners and/or physicians in varied settings to develop clinical placements and affiliations.
· Coordinate with the program coordinator to determine the number of student placements needed at each semester, level, and type of experience needed to meet the accreditation requirements.
· Network with potential preceptor sites and develop relationships within the healthcare community in collaboration with keypath.
· Ensure that each student is assigned a named preceptor, for the duration of the clinical practicum.
· Keep up to date with curriculum developments and undertaking clinical learning environment audits.
· Advise preceptors and/or the institutional contacts of the learning needs and objectives of the program. When necessary, discuss the needs of individual students, and assist in the implementation of an action plan/supportive learning plan to facilitate student development in coordination with the program coordinator.
· Communicate with undergraduate nursing students to ensure that each student follows practicum requirements set by the university utilizing the American Data Bank system, and communicate with the program coordinator and/or course/clinical coordinator as needed regarding compliance issues.
· Maintains and reviews ADB clinical compliances in collaboration with Keypath team.
· Identify facility requirements at each clinical placement location, such as orientation and EHR training, and communicate these clinical entry requirements to instructors and student groups in a timely manner.
· Ensure that the students at all time meet the requirements of clinical sites’ guidelines including the dress and professional behavior code at the institution
· Ensure that the contract and facility requirements are current within the In-Place clinical management system.
· Ensure that all “onboarding” has occurred for each student and provide aid when required
· Send the student verification form for clinicals and additionally requested documents to the representative at the clinical site and/or preceptor, on time, as required by the facility/agency.
· Maintain a record of all clinical student evaluation, preceptor and agency evaluation in the clinical In-Place portal.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
· Nursing degree required; Master’s Degree preferred;
· 2 years of experience preferred working in an educational or medical setting

· Demonstrate a good knowledge of professional development issues, nurse education, and practice development
· Demonstrate knowledge of requirements for undergraduate students
· Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills especially with regard to facilitation skills and counseling skills
· Demonstrate effective organizational skills including time management
· Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
· Collaborative liaison skills in order to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team of university administrators, faculty, and clinical sites
· Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
· Ability to facilitate and manage groups through the learning process
