The Ahfachkee School is part of the Seminole Tribe of Florida has about 200 students between all the K-12 grade levels so we offer small class sizes, traditional culture preservation, and plenty of resources! We follow Florida standards for the curriculum however we fall under the Bureau of Indian Education so we're not part of the county. Note the school is located on the Big Cypress Reservation at 31055 Josie Billie Highway, Clewiston, FL 33440. This is not in the main city of Clewiston, rather 45 minute drive south. It is about a 45 minute drive east of Immokalee. Coming from Weston it would be about a 55 minute drive to the west on I-75. We do provide a fuel stipend if you live more than 40 miles away.

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Cook(s) in preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of food services environments within the Ahfachkee School. The individual serves food items to students from counters and/or steam tables, in accordance with specific instructions, ensuring that appropriate portions are served. The incumbent may prepare salad items, hot and cold foods and assists in the preparation of bakery items. This position is classified as a Supp-42; which requires a 42 week work period (approximately 10 months), paid across a 42 week (10 month) pay cycle.

Qualifications / Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of six (6) months experience working in food service line settings or related field is required. Must possess an understanding and caring attitude towards children and youth. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
