School Based Therapist, Unlicensed and Licensed in Denver, COCommunity Mental Health Position offering caring professionals the opportunity to provide healthcare that changes lives.
Our CMHC is an Integrated Health Care and Trauma Informed Care Community that serves a metropolitan area in Denver, CO.
Our School Based Services offers services to students ages 4 to 21 years old attending grades Preschool through 12 in identified schools in Adams County School, Charter Schools, and Front Range Community College (Westminster location).
Under direct supervision provides clinical and support services to individuals and/or their support systems utilizing evidence based best practice models. Provides care to consumers in a manner that recognizes human potential, is empathic and demonstrates unconditional positive regard while promoting safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
Job Responsibilities
Provides counseling, therapy and/or psychotherapy to consumers and families as appropriate to the position; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs; provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required. Provides case management services to consumers as needed.
Facilitates and contributes to the accomplishment of tasks by consumers and/or families; empowers consumers to reach optimum level of achievement; sets positive example and provides role modeling as well as technical expertise to accomplish goals.
Attends and participates in group sessions, in service education and training opportunities, meetings, supervisory sessions, review of clinical issues and special events.
Documents intervention and program activity and maintain accurate and timely clinical records according to established policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of all consumer records.
Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapy and/or casework, refer clients to appropriate service agencies as needed.
Assists in pinpointing program and management problems and participates in on-going program development, implementation and evaluation.
Qualifications/Skills
Master's Degree in counseling or a directly related field required
Requires 2+ years of direct clinical experience
Prefer LPC, LP, LMFT, or LCSW licensure or CAC, CAS LAC certifications
Familiarity with current DSM 5 and diagnostic techniques
Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards
