Position: Scanner/General Warehouse

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been serving homeless and poor populations since 1646. Through home visits, shelter, food assistance, employment services, thrift stores and outreach programs, St. Vincent de Paul provides compassion and support of individuals in need, regardless of race, origin, religion, or gender. We are currently recruiting for a Full time Scanner/General Warehouse position at our downtown Food Reclamation Center located at 420 West Watkins Road in Phoenix.

• Sorting, boxing, loading, and palletizing all scanned and donated food product.
• Accurate scanning, storing, and labeling of Reclamation product from Kroger Food Stores.
• Daily sweeping and mopping of assigned area as directed by Supervisor.

• Dedicated and meticulous - high level of accuracy and attention to detail (needed for scanning Kroger product).
• Good hand and eye coordination (especially needed as a scanner). Ability to handle a high/fast volume of product coming down scan line. Able to show agility while loading boxes from scan line unto pallets.
• Able to use warehouse equipment, like pallet jacks (hand, rider, walker).
• Flexibility to adapt to different work situations.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

• Must wear closed toed shoes.
• Maintain a neat appearance in line with dress code policy.
• Must be able to work on Saturdays.
• Courteous and friendly disposition with donors, employees, and volunteers.
• Able to read at a level of comprehension sufficient to meet job requirements.

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds continuously during the workday. Good eyesight and hearing needed to avoid dangerous mechanized equipment used in the warehouse.
• Ability to stand on hard concrete floor for most of the workday. Able to move quickly. Ability to bend, stoop and kneel.
