Job Description
The selected candidate will directly support the Combat and Integration and Identification Systems Division (IDS) located in Saint Inigoes, MD (Webster Field) and will perform a wide variety of electronics-based tasking in support of the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Modernization Program and the ISEA for the AN/UPX-29(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system.

Sample Tasking:
  • Inspecting, testing, and certifying basic circuit boards and field change kits for compliance with system test requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting malfunctions using applicable drawings, knowledge of electronics theory, and test equipment such as multi-meters, as part of a team.
  • Travelling to and receiving training at interesting locations such as: San Diego, California; Rota, Spain; Yokosuka, Japan; Norfolk, Virginia; Mayport, Florida, and more.
  • Supporting team members performing IFF system assessments such as ALOA’s, CSSQT’s, and MCA’s, and receive training in preparation for performing these assessments.
  • Supporting IFF Mode 5 and Mode S system upgrades on board Navy ships or land-based sites by testing and shipping unplanned necessary items to the work site.
  • Support the Team Lead in communicating with ship’s force, government customers, and BAE Systems project leads in a professional manner.
  • Completing all documentation in a concise and accurate manner.
  • Receiving training from subject matter experts on the AN/UPX-29(V) IFF System and integrating systems in preparation for higher technical responsibilities with matching pay increases.

Candidate will travel 25% of the time to assist with testing events.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma/GED or completion of vocational technical training in electronics
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to use basic hand tools
Ability to lift 45 pounds
Ability to differentiate colors
Ability to pass BAE Systems solder and cable fabrication training
Ability to acquire and maintain the required security clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Knowledge of radar theory
Experience with Navy shipboard systems
Use of multi-meters and Oscilloscopes
Completion of or knowledge of Navy NEETS modules
