Inspired by the insatiable wanderlust and rebellious spirit of Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, the historic downtown mansion once owned by the businessman and scion has been reinterpreted for the modern era as a lively and stylish social destination. From a secret bar tucked into a corner of the sumptuous Doris Duke-inspired parlor to the specially-commissioned series of mysterious and moody old world still lifes sprinkled throughout the foyer and lounge, the scene at The Vanderbilt is crackling with coastal curiosities and alluring eccentricities waiting to be discovered.

ROLE SUMMARY

Join our team as Roof Deck Bartender and become one of the authors of our story. As part of the Auberge family, you will be responsible for involved in the daily operations of the bar while ensuring guest satisfaction is met throughout the beverage experience and by providing a highly efficient and courteous service.

• Primarily responsible for assisting guests in beverage and drink preparation, servicing of the bar, pool area and the restaurant in an efficient and timely manner.
• Relate with guests about needs, satisfaction with the beverage and drinks, ensuring a consistently caring and high quality service.
• Comply with Auberge standards in use within the Bar and Restaurant outlets.
• Contribute in improving the F&B sales revenues by being knowledgeable about drinks, cocktails, spirits and other menu items, specials and prices.
• Accurately and quickly take and place orders and input them into the POS system ensuring correct timing and billing.
• Prepare the guest check accurately and collect payment or signature, as required.
• Clean, clear and reset tables as needed.
• Operate, maintain and properly clean all bar equipment and fittings.
• Ensure that serving bar is well-stocked at all times.
• Use safe food handling procedures and maintain a safe-working environment by using proper food handling skills and food safety guidelines.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
• Develop and form positive relationships with guests and team members, whilst remaining professional and service orientated at all times.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a similar position, preferably in luxury hotels
• Good knowledge of beverage preparation, including coffee, cocktail, liqueurs and spirits
• Ability to communicate fluently in English
• Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast paced service environment
• Ability to work 8 hours shifts outdoors / exposed to the sun
