Job Description: RN - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Shift/Hours:

• Night Shift: 7:00pm - 7:30am

Holiday/Weekend Requirement:

• Holidays: Rotating Holidays - unit specific
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• On Call Requirement: None

Responsibilities:

• Accurately interprets patient’s cardiac rhythm strips. Notifies physician of any changes in patient’s cardiac rhythm.
• Manages patients who are stable on ventilators in collaboration with the respiratory therapist and physician.
• Manages stable hemodynamic monitoring.
• Effectively engages patients, families and/or significant others regarding the plan of care, short and long term goals, progression toward goal achievement, including discharge planning.

Must Haves:

License: Current California RN license

Certification: Current BLS and NRP provider cards

Experience: 2 years recent NICU experience and recent experience in Level II or Level III

Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) and 16 units of Baby Friendly education required

About the Unit:

Number of Beds: 11 beds

Patient Population: NICU patients - newborns

Common Diagnoses: Anemia: Premature babies. Breathing problems: Apnea: etc.

Nurse to Patient Ratio:1:1 or 1:2

Pay: $46.50 - $70.68 per hour
