Job Title: RN MED SURG (TRAVEL OR LOCAL Both can apply)

Duration: 13 week contract

Shift: 7p-7:30a Nights only with every other weekend

Location: Wyandotte, MI 48192

BLS Required

Job Description:

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting. Population includes adolescents, young adult, middle adult, mature adult, and geriatric groups. Communicates with physicians / Nurse Manager or House Supervisor / co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Must pass the NCB (Nurse Career Battery) test to be considered for employment

Duties: Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Skills: Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Education:1. BSN preferred. 2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. 3. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. 4. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. 5. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
