Job Description

The Rice Bran Extractor Operator is responsible for the direct operation and management of the rice bran extraction and the soy oil degumming system. This includes sanitation, safety, preventative maintenance, purchasing and quality assurance. This person will also schedule the inbound and outbound loads of rice bran and will guide and instruct the Assistant Operators to maintain safe, efficient, and sanitary operations of the plants.

Job Duties

1. To promote teamwork and continually improve the knowledge of Assistant Operators.

2. To recommend employees for promotions, transfers, or termination.

3. To keep the Assistant Operators informed of all pertinent information regarding safety, sanitation, quality, and productivity goals and to see that all policies regarding these are followed.

4. To schedule the pickup and delivery of rice bran in coordination with the rice mill.

5. To efficiently operate the rice bran extraction and soy oil degumming plants to meet customer requirements.

6. To keep constantly alert to major emergencies and security problems and report violations and problems to the proper authorities.

7. To keep informed of all accidents to members of the crew, fill out injury reports and work with injured employees to speed their return t work. To verify that an employee has a medical release prior to returning to work after an injury.

8. To maintain all plant records for productivity, quality, cost, etc. as required.

9. To keep the Processing Manager informed of production and significant events.

Education Requirements

1. High School Diploma

2. Management / Supervisory Training

3. Three to five years of similar or related work experience
