The Long Island Educational Opportunity Center is looking for a qualified individual, under limited supervision, to establish and maintain relationships with employers and community organizations to develop job opportunities for LIEOC vocational students under the title of Job Developer.â The job developer organizes day to day activities, orientating students to the services provided, posting opportunities and tracking placement data.â â

The job developer executes activities designed to assist students obtain employment.â This includes working closely with Long Island employers and community and business organizations in developing career opportunities and matching student skills to employer needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Originates and retains contacts with business and industry representatives to schedule potential hiring of LIEOC students alongside employer job postings.
• Establishes and maintains a job bank for LIEOC students.
• Assists students in resume writing, cover letters, and applications.â Aids students with interview techniques, including highlighting relevant skills and employment options.
• Works with LIEOC staff to coordinate and maintain job development activities, such as job fairs and employer visits.
• Possess knowledge of Long Island employment and economic trends.

This position is funded through The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, Perkins V - Postsecondary grant.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters Degree in related field
• Bilingual
• Experience with adult populations
• Experience with underserved populations

This is a full-time Research Foundation position.
