The job of a reset merchandiser is to implement new displays and enhance product placement in a retail store. ... Additional job duties of a reset merchandiser include moving, stacking, or rearranging products on store shelves or moving products to new locations in the store. This may also include resetting modules, building fixtures, rotating merchandise, and stocking shelves.

Resets can be quite large and complex, and completing them successfully requires merchandisers to be able to complete the work on schedule and according to plan.

Overview:

Reset Merchandisers are responsible for helping a store rearrange its products by stocking or restocking products in accordance with a new plan. Merchandisers must be able to follow a planogram that depicts what the new shelf will look like; this may require them to tear down and rebuild whole sections of the store. For merchandisers to successfully complete resets, it is essential that the work is completed on time and according to plan.

Requirements are:

  • Must know how to use a Store Blueprint
  • Must know how to build Gondola Trains
  • Must know how to Build Wall Gondolas
  • Must know how to read and use a Tape Measurer.
  • Must know how to use a hand pallet jack.
  • Must have Dollar Tree, Family Dollar or New Store Build out Experience (That's when you come to an empty store, unload the truck full of pallets, station pallets in store and set the store completely up. This includes Graphics, Signage, Cashwraps, Corner Boxes, Gondola Trains (Floor Gondolas), Wall Gondolas, Window Decals.
  • Must know how to use a forklift.
  • Must know how to use a table saw and precisely cut wood.
  • Must know how to use a Sawzall & Precisely cut signage.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Prior retail experience and knowledge of Plan-o-grams and schematics is REQUIRED.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Chicago, IL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Blueprint reading: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Pallet jack: 1 year (Preferred)
  • New store build out: 1 year (Preferred)
